​Summer 2021 Trends

The summer months are approaching, and it’s already starting to heat up. It’s at this time every year that we realise how out-of-date our wardrobes are and fall into the spiral of having a full wardrobe but still nothing to wear, and we have no idea how to style ourselves for the new season. That means it’s time for some inspiration.

Here are some of the biggest trends for summer 2021.

• 1.Monochrome hues

If you’re looking for the easy way to pull an outfit together, just pick out some of your favourite monochromatic pieces and throw them together to get your perfect summer 2021 look. Blacks, whites, and every grey in between is in this year, and a totally monochromatic outfit is on point whatever the occasion.

• 2.Browns

While we’ve already seen lots of brown popping up over the autumn and winter months, it’s not going anywhere, so prepare yourself to explore even more soft, beige hues and cosy brown pieces. Expect double brown outfits, and don’t forget, cream and ecru will go well with your brown clothes too!

• 3.Midriff flossing

If you’ve never heard of this term before, midriff flossing is used to describe the stringy, crossover straps you can often find tied around your stomach, and they’re in this year. Whether they’re on the top of a skirt, the middle of a dress, or the bottom of a crop top, you’ll find them somewhere, and they’re a must have if you want to show a little skin this summer.

• 4.Sparkles, sequins, and glitter

It’s time to take a trip back to the 70s as we explore some of the latest disco-inspired outfits bursting with glitter, sequins, and anything else sparkly you can find. These pieces are bold and special, and they’re going to be blessing your closet for the whole season.

• 5.Maxi dresses

We saw the comeback of maxi dresses last summer, and they’re not going anywhere this year. As the trend sticks around for at least another year, it’s time to explore the different shapes, colours, and materials you can find on your summer maxi dress. These are great if you want to dress modestly, and can also come in some gorgeous, elegant styles suitable for fancy occasions.

• 6.Puffy sleeves

If you couldn’t get enough of sleeve detailing last year, you’ll be glad to hear it back for another year, and this year we’re talking puffy sleeves in particular. Expect to see some flouncy, puffy sleeves fit for a princess in plenty of tops and dresses, and have fun playing with them alongside other components in your outfit.

7.Wide legs

The final trend we’re speaking about for summer 2021 is the baggy trouser trend, which has been going for a while now, and is still going strong. If you’re still attached to your skinny jeans or cigarette pants, it’s worth hoping on this trend before it dies out, and you won’t regret it. The comfort, the aesthetic, they’ve got everything.
